The Endless City
Original Art by Mark Harrison
I have loved Orientalist paintings for a long while and every so often I dip my toe in and paint one. I collect old early 20th Century postcards and have a good number of the Middle East including Cairo and wanted to do a painting that had the feel of those old postcards. So this is a fantasy view of an Orientalist city based on old Cairo under a somewhat ambiguous and hopefully more magical light that mixes the effects of daylight and the night.
