Turn Your Eye Inward

a watercolor painting of a skull with a crown of peonies and a snake entwined in the flowers. The eyes of the skull glow green.

Original Art by Emerald Barkley

This is a watercolor skull painting that is a reflection on accountability, and the need to see ourselves truthfully. I think it’s easy for us to think about how we occupy the hero’s role, but how often do we consider our other roles? How can we use that thoughtfulness to become mindful of who we are in community?

“Turn Your Eye Inward is a 12″ x 15” watercolor painting on Arches hot-pressed paper.
