This mixed-media gem is a weird, if pocket-sized, treasure! I was feeling a bit of whimsy, as May is trying to gift us with a break in the weather and a bulb or two.
Iridescent acrylic forms the basecoat, then I went in with matte graphite pencil and a touch of gold. Lastly, the background is water-soluble charcoal, which lays down a luscious black. (This one was made from cherry pits, which has a bit of warmth to it.) After coating it with varnish, I tucked it into a fancy little gold frame. Voilà!
