Summer’s Breath
by Sam Hogg
She stands, about her, colours fly
Of day’s due warmth and turquoise sky
To bear the sun’s eternal face,
summer’s breath, sultry embrace.
I’m a lizard, I hate the cold and being in the sun makes me happy. This piece turned out to be a celebration of the joy I feel standing in a warm summer’s wind after a protracted spell of cold. The way it feels having a warm breeze catching at your clothes, knowing the nights will be lighter and the temperatures comfortable even into the wee hours.
The piece is gouache over matt medium-sealed ink wash on 300 gsm watercolour paper. 5×7 inches, it comes framed as shown.
Please note this piece is shipped tracked and signed for from the UK. International mail may be prone to delays that are beyond my control.
