The Tower

by Brenda Lyons

The Tower – a card of destructive change, upheaval and the chaos that comes with a sudden, unexpected crisis.

Bald eagles build some of that largest and heaviest nests of any bird. Often they continue to add sticks and branches to their nests year after year. Eventually, the nests become so heavy they cause their supporting tree to collapse, sending the nest – and often eggs, nestlings, or adults – plummeting to the ground below.

These two eagles are experiencing the worst at this moment – their nest of many years is destroyed. But now the only choice is to rebuild. Even in the rubble of your dreams there is the opportunity to create something better. Sometimes it takes a disaster to be pushed into change.

Ink and acrylic ink washes on watercolor paper, 12 X 18 inches. This painting is matted and framed to 18X24 inches in an off-white mat and black frame. The second photo shows the framed piece, but due to reflections the first image shows the colors best.
