Golden Autumn

When autumn is here, I can’t help but paint equinox phoenixes! This phoenix carries a living bough with maple leaves in full color. Behind are the suns of Summer and Winter, glowing gold as she flies between.
Ink, ink washes, gold ink and white acrylic, 9X12 inches.

Brenda Lyons
An illustrator who loves birds and the worlds of nature and myth. My medium of choice is watercolor, as well as acrylic, ink, and graphite. I've created coloring books for the Cornell Lab Publishing Group and teach illustration at RMCAD. I spend my summers working on wildlife and glacier boats on the Kenai Peninsula in Alaska, where I get lots of artistic inspiration.
