Echo of Moraine

by Katie Croonenberghs

“The light of the setting sun slashed across the mountains

Their towering peaks cast deep in shadow by the heavy storm like a longing embrace

And the song of life rumbled through the sky and pierced the darkness there

An echo of memory, of greetings and tomorrows”

Katie is a fantasy artist based in the greater Seattle area. Specializing in watercolor and currently exploring gouache, her focus is on fantastical creatures with strong roots in our natural world.

Landscapes and environments play a large role in her works as a result of growing up surrounded and inspired by majestic scenery of Montana, and further fed by the beauty of the Pacific North West.

Recurring themes in her work include dragons and other elegant mythical or magical creatures in fully rendered landscapes and environments - often times filled with plenty of trees and rocks.

Katie can often be found showcasing work at local conventions in the PNW.
