This painting, “Conscious”, is an 8×10 Oil painting on Masonite that explores the state of newly discovered awareness. The discovery of individuality, whether artificially created or “natural”, is one of the most fascinating transformations of life and is indicative of the struggle between the self we present and the self we are; the person that interacts to keep us alive and the self that plots and schemes and weeps and dies all the while looking out through the other self’s eyes.
