Character Study

This is an oil study done on 11 x 14″ canvas board.  This is a quick-sketch exercise looking for character and form.  These are very helpful exercises in likeness, color mixing and brush stroke spontaneity.  This man’s face was so colorful from all the reflected lights bombarding him from whatever environment he was seated in, it was too hard to pass up capturing.
