Welcome to our new guest curator series.
In each of these posts, we invite an EDO artist to select up to 15 pieces
that they think deserve your attention, and space on your wall.
First up is the incomparable Iris Compiet!
A Hint of Folklore
There are so many hidden gems in the EDO archives it was tough to limit to just 15 pieces. But in the end my eye came back to these wonderful pieces of art which all deserve to be enjoyed in someone’s home. To be looked at and loved. To wonder and admire.
As an artist, mostly known for the faery art I’ve done I gravitate towards pieces which have that hint of faery, folklore and nature. So naturally a lot of green has found it’s way into my choices.
These pieces leave you wondering about the story behind them. Stories told by the artists but also where the artists invite the onlooker to be part of that story and add to it. Art gives us a moment of respite, of wonder, an escape from the world we live in on a daily basis. And then of course there’s art that just makes you smile and laugh, which is also something we need on a daily basis.
