The Devil

The Devil represents seduction and lust – the attraction to the material world and physical pleasures, with the risk of giving into temptation too greatly. Belladonna/Deadly Nightshade was used to dilate women’s eyes to give them the appearance of being sexually aroused, but could be fatal if the wrong dosage was administered.
