This piece hung on the stairs leading to my studio for many years. A fan of Kelley’s work for a long time, I saw so many things in this piece. It’s a reference to a place a love, and a concept that goes for miles. It’s just so confident, achieving a full range of value in a single implement. I could almost imagine walking by the real thing, and oddly the real thing would pale in comparision to this artist’s rendition.

And a reminder that a portion of each piece in this sale will go back to the artist! And a portion will go to fund a small scholarship for an artist to join the Unleash Creativity club community.

This little bird was drawn from one of my own photos, taken during a walk around Brooklyn. I wanted it to be a memorial piece, a symbol of fragile life with the feeling of transcendence.
