Little Cetus

by Lisa Sprite Hansen

This newly born baby sea creature is adorable curled up in a shell, but she’ll grow up to be a giant sea monster!

Little Cetus is sculpted inside a shell collected from a local beach in NY by my home.
My inspiration is usually sparked from the things I find in nature.

The shell is removable from the sculpted base.

Materials: Polymer Clay, Shell, Glass Rounds, Moss, Apoxie Sculpt, Wire, Acrylics
Size (Inches): 3.5 W x 2.75 H x 2 W

Sprite is a fantasy artist; sculptor based in New York & Canada. Inspired by nature, her otherworldly, mysterious creatures and beings of a futuristic lost world form organically and intuitively. She uses mixed media to bring them into existence to help them share their stories by providing a glimpse into her/ their world. Materials usually include various types of clay, natural inclusions (healing crystals, geodes, driftwood, delicate leaves & dried petals, twigs, shells, bone fragments, insect parts, lots of glue and resin. Sometimes she draws and paints them too!
