What started as a study of an ordinary Black Trumpet mushroom led to a discovery of a most charming Lil’ Black Trumpet critter.

For the first hour of the study the ‘specimen’ concealed it’s nature as just a mushroom. Fortunately it decided that I was not a threat, and the Lil’ Black Trumpet revealed its face, and unique little personality. I’m convinced that it enjoyed studying me, just as much as I enjoyed studying it. With this discovery I am gripped with excitement and wonder at who else is hiding among the fungi, and flora of our world.
