Gaia’s Daughter

Gaia’s Daughter pays homage to the spirit of Mother Earth. I’ve always felt very protective of her so I often create artwork in her honor. She is painted in oils on an 11″ x 14″ cradled wood panel with 5/8″ depth, her skin is adorned with pressed leaves and her hair is made of organic preserved moss. I’ve added acorns from my oak tree and tumbled glass beads of green, blue and amber throughout the moss. The edges of the panel are painted with metallic bronze which provides a natural frame. This piece is wired and ready to hang!

Toni Taylor
I've been an artist since I could hold a crayon and it's been my passion ever since. It is not something I went to school for but, I believe, a gift from the Divine Creator. I will not say I'm self taught but 'Life' taught as life.. the people I encounter, the work I'm exposed to, guidance from those I admire.. continues to teach me everyday. I have a special interest in spiritual/metaphysical subject matter and am a lover of nature, fantasy, visionary and science fiction subject matter. I have a 40+ year history of commercial illustration, fine art, scenic painting for places like Disney and Universal Studios and teaching workshops. Art has been my vehicle to travel through life connecting me with some amazing people and affording me many experiences I wouldn't have had otherwise. It sustains me in a way no other vocation would. It is my desire to continue creating work that inspires others and serves to elevate the planet in some way as I feel we'd be lost as a species without art!
