Arise- oil on copper.

The latest in my series of paintings on copper. ‘Arise’ 4X4

Process: After lightly scribing a sketch on to the copper plate, FW acrylic ink is applied with dip pens and a brush. I then oil paint on top of that underpainting. The final step is to scribe/etch in details,like the jewelry on her headpiece as well as the rising sun background, which will catch the light in interesting ways as you move about the piece. It is a very jewel-like effect.
