There is a chill in the air. As the solstice is upon us and the new year coming fast, I thought I’d celebrate the moment in a painting called ‘Winter’.
Winter is Acrylic on Gesso Panel. After roughing in the drawing with graphite, I give it a linear treatment with traditional nib pens. This is followed by a slow build-up of washes the nail the values and color. Finally we we do the final render. The effect is a layered appearance, blurring the edge between drawing and painting.
Winter is 6X6 and ships in the frame shown.
