Vampire Study

I did a big project recently where I pulled as much of my personal fantasy work together as possible in order to do a round of custom tokens for Magic to sell at shows. I’ve done a lot of work over the years and I figured I had all my bases covered for the major categories, and for the most part I did! Except I had never painted a vampire. I finished the token project with vampires and a few extra holes in my library and resolved to get to them soon, but for some reason vampires have really stuck with me. I know that I don’t want my vampires to be super humanoid, or…. *shiver*… zombie-like, like Nosferatu. I’d much rather pull inspiration from bats and bat forms, like some of the lower vampires in The Witcher. So here’s a study in that direction, a first try. I imagine I’ll be doing a few of these before I commit to something and make a piece. The next one will probably be wearing little shoes.
