Peering over the tangle of the forest, two ancient hunting hawks catch sight of movement in the trees.
Ink, ink washes, watercolor and gouache on hot-press Fabriano watercolor paper, 11X17 inches. This painting is double-matted in an 18X24 inch mat.

Brenda Lyons
An illustrator who loves birds and the worlds of nature and myth. My medium of choice is watercolor, as well as acrylic, ink, and graphite. I've created coloring books for the Cornell Lab Publishing Group and teach illustration at RMCAD. I spend my summers working on wildlife and glacier boats on the Kenai Peninsula in Alaska, where I get lots of artistic inspiration.
