Sharp-Shinned Hawk

Original Art by Gigi Chen

Sharp-shinned Hawk
2026
6 x 7 inches
Acrylic on Wood Panel

Sharp-shinned Hawks are one of my favorite raptors. They are agile fliers and have gorgeous colors and patterns. I wanted to feature this hawk in my piece and paint her to look like a classical Renaissance portrait. I added the almost Byzantine style necklace to give her an air of mystery and royalty.
