Poppies

When they run through the woods in ecstasy, or in terror, or in perfect joyful harmony with the blood rushing through their veins, who do they call out to?  Sense in the shadows, see in the bright stars above, cry for when all else is lost?  Who answers their prayers and soothes their fears and watches over them with tireless, boundless love?

I often find myself wondering about the spirituality of other animals, probably because I grew up reading books like Redwall, Watership Down, and Tailchaser’s Song.  I imagine vast pantheons that vary species to species, some overlapping and some perfectly distinct.  I think foxes have many deities, just as shadowed and elusive as they.

As always, this piece looks amazing in a gold frame, BUT will be sold and shipped in an 11×14″ white mat.  Why?  Two reasons: A- maybe our frame tastes are WILDLY different, and you’d like to pick your own, and B- foxes, like owls, have an easier time getting to you without glass.  Glass makes them nervous.
