Our dreams and ideas are are intangible things. But even so, we often treat them as if they are physical objects, things to hold in our hands and examine from every angle. We circle around them endlessly in ever tightening spirals, drawing closer and closer to some kernel of truth, some wisdom, some spark of creativity and inspiration that we hungrily seek.
Sometimes our circling makes us feel trapped, like fish in a tiny, airless bowl, and we think that if we have to complete just one more circuit, we’ll go mad. That’s when circling becomes unhealthy, a spiraling, obsessive ritual of anxiety and fear.
But often- even when you’re afraid- when we circle a frightening thought and inspect it from every angle, when we swim closer and closer and closer until we can brush it gently with our fins, we draw ever closer to the truth of our own being, the essence of what we hungrily seek.
It happened again. I framed a piece. Do I have a photo of it!? Y E S. I know, I know, who *AM* I?
The size of the original itself is 5″x5″, and the frame is 7″x7″, and betta fish are MUCH braver than birds*, I’m sure she’ll make it through the mail just fine.
* Please don’t tell the birds I said that, especially the owls. They’ll bring me before their Parliment. . .
