This piece is an 8″ by 10″ mixed media painting on a board. It comes with a wood frame that has the outer dimensions of 8.5″ by 10.5″.

This year for Every Day Original I am doing a series of animals to represent the four elements! The first in the series is water, which is represented by this brook trout. I did my underpainting with acrylic and colored pencils, and painted the top layer with oils.

Makenna Karp

Makenna Karp is a fantasy illustrator and oil painter specializing in illustrations for board games and book covers.

Commencing her formal art education at Pratt Institute in 2019, Makenna took a different path after a year, immersing herself in traditional painting and drawing at Watts Atelier from 2021 to 2023.

Currently, she calls northern California home. When she's not painting, she can be found climbing rocks or wandering through the redwoods.
