The Bicep of Strength Is Full Of Pure Sunlight
by Breeyn
This is the first in a triptych about Crowley’s Fall. But it can mean whatever you’d like it to mean. The play and interaction of light was very important to me – I thought a lot about how this piece would react to sunlight, both inside and outside of the deep box of the frame.
Each feather has been hand-drawn so they are all unique, and then hand-etched with a tool I had to invent for the purpose. Then they were all hand-stitched into place.
I wanted it to look as though Crowley is standing just beyond the frame in the cosmos, the swirling thunderhead of his imminent loss of grace darkening all around him – and I just framed one wing before the plummet.
The light still shines off of him through the clouds. Even after.
The frame measures: 12″ wide x 9″ high x 2″ deep. The entire piece measures 13.5″ wide x 14.5″ high x 4.5″ deep.
Product Height: 14.5 inches
Product Depth: 4.5
