Maneki Neko or “beckoning cat” is a common Japanese figurine which is often believed to bring good luck to the owner. I’ve grown to really like painting these porcelain figurines under different color lighting and still life set ups. I used a limited pallet for my color range and I use a chromatic black in my work to – the only actual black from the tube is in the background.
