“Do what only you can do best, make good art. Make it on the bad days, make it on the good days too. And while you’re at it, make your art. Do the stuff that only you can do. The one thing that you have that nobody else has, is you. Your voice, your mind, your story. Your vision. So write and draw and build and play and dance and live as only you can. And now go and make interesting mistakes, make amazing mistakes, make glorious and fantastic mistakes. Break rules. Leave the world more interesting for your being here. Make good art.”

Bud Cook

Bud Cook is a painter whose strong command of the human figure is at the root of his illustrative and fine art work. His keen study of life yields a cleverly abstracted and stylized realism. This has led him to work for companies such as Wizards of the Coast, Dark Horse Comics, Scientific American and Johns Hopkins Health Review. Bud shows his personal work in galleries across the country and is an adjunct instructor at Quinebaug Valley Community College where he has been teaching in the Art Department since 2014.
