“It’s only forever, not long at all.” The Labyrinth
This painting is a study from Labyrinth, a scene that held a powerful psychological charge for me as a teenager. I was completely drawn into the world of the Labyrinth… its beauty, romance, and theatrical staging… while also sensing, without yet understanding, that something was emotionally manipulative and unsettling beneath the allure. That tension between enchantment and unease. When I watch this scene unfold it still takes my breath away and I fully understand how strong Sarah must have been to find her way.
