I, Us
by Reiko Murakami
New piece along the ongoing theme of gaze. I wanted to create a drawing in which the subject stares back at us. The act of transferring the subject into drawing and framing it removes its independence. It turns into an object to be owned, while the eyes on its breast indicate that it can still stare back. No one can remove its perception.
3×3 art framed in 4.5×4.5 frame
