Apollo and Daphne – Apotheosis

Original Art by Jenna Kass

The story of Apollo and Daphne is not one of victimhood. Apollo’s base pursuit is foiled; Daphne is touched by the gods. She becomes more than her attacker, acknowledged by him as an enduring symbol of victory.

She is not his victim. She is beyond him.
