I had the incredible honor of participating in the 78 Tarots Mythical deck this year and received the 9 of cups as my piece. The prompt was quite tricky as my card was intended to have an Asian-themed dragon on it. Since there has been a plethora of Japanese and Chinese representation in Dragon art, I decided to go more Thai based.
This illustration was one of the first pieces I was able to complete in my new studio and gallery at Provo Towne Centre Mall, Drawn to Dragons. If you are local feel free to stop in and watch me paint. Quite a few people were able to watch me complete this piece in person and it was a joy to listen to everyone’s comments on my work and answer questions as I painted.
