It was colder than you’d think for a June day. Each gust of wind coming off of Lake Superior made the trees creak and shiver, carrying that chill the big lake has even in the summer.
Painted en plein air on June 7th, 2025, this study represents Day 144 of my ongoing effort to document the changing and ever-inspiring landscape of Presque Isle Park in Marquette, Michigan. Each day reveals something new. This one arrived on a stiff wind and a chorus of bending cedar limbs.
