Ambush Blood Test

by Breeyn

I’m experimenting with a new medium – acrylic. This piece is hand-cut – every bit of it – by me, using a scroll saw and small files. No laser cutters here. The handle is real walnut, with brass insets. Resin and glass beads cascade down to add movement.

This piece can be wall-mounted, or used as a hand-mirror. It was tough taking photos of that didn’t show my reflection, lol.

It’s larger than the cleavers we have in the butcher shop, measuring 14 inches long. The blade is 7.5 inches long and 5 inches wide. Including the blood drips – both beaded and acrylic – the height of the piece hanging at the right angle is 13.5 inches. The smooth-finished wooden handle feels very nice to grip.

Materials: Acrylic mirror, walnut, brass, thread, beads, paint, pine. Ready to hang.
