The latest in my series of paintings on copper. I am a process junky at my very core, a tinkerer, and this piece has me swimming in my bliss. FW ink, aerosols, steelwool and sandpaper and even a dot pattern impression from a rubber bracelet dipped in paint, got me most of the way there. And finished by etching circular designs back down to the copper with knives and scribes, plus a little bit of oil paint on top to polish it off.
The reflective quality of the copper changes the viewing experience, depending on lighting and angle, creating a very jewl-like surface.
It is 5X8 and comes in the antique frame shown.
