Skull #1 is the latest of my paintings on copper board. It is an FW ink drawing, which has been tinted with translucent paint and oil painted upon. The final step is cutting the floral design with an x-acto through the paint back down to the copper. The translucent red has a vibrancy, akin to stained glass, as the light travels through it to the copper and bounces back. The reflective quality of the copper makes the image appear different depending on light and viewing angle.
The painting is 4×4 and comes framed as shown.
