Avifauna, Color Pencil Drawing

“Avifauna” means the birds of a particular habitat or time frame. Most of the birds pictured in this piece have been referenced from my window, (other than perhaps the peacock.)
Color pencils on archival paper. New frame made of wood, glass over top. Art 11×14, with frame 15×18
~I also plan to make a 2nd version of this piece as a larger oil painting onto patterned wood.
Process: The first pencil sketch I drew from my head. Then using vellum, I drew a more careful version over the top, referencing birds for correct shape and colors. I like when I can save my sketches, so using a light box I traced the finished drawing onto archival paper. I used prismacolor pencils to create the final.
