Dance of the Kingfishers
by Kelley Hensing
The iridescent blue, teal and orange of these birds is striking, and I really enjoyed building up their colors. I had a flow in mind of sweeping in from the bottom and curving up and out to the right, so I started with a sketch to get a feel of how their shapes might fit together. From there the others joined in organically as I worked through the drawing. I love how this piece turned out.
