Willow Fae

by Madalyn McLeod

There is a time for waking up to new life and being present with the good around you.

“And ’tis my faith that every flower
Enjoys the air it breathes.”

-William Wordsworth “Lines Written in Early Spring”

This is an illustration I made for an oracle deck I’m creating, which will focus on elemental Fae. I used colored pencil, watercolor, ink, and gouache.

Madalyn McLeod is a fantasy artist living in the mountains around Asheville, NC. She takes inspiration from nature, folklore and fairy tales to create ethereal paintings using watercolor, gouache, colored pencil and ink. Her work is characterized by flowing line art, femininity, and moody atmosphere.

She grew up in North Carolina, and spent a lot of time reading and drawing throughout her childhood. She received a BFA in illustration from East Carolina University in 2013, and since then, she has been working on a body of personal artwork, illustrating books, and showing at local galleries. She understands the world is often dark, and wants to bring a little magic into it.
