The Princess and the Mermaid

Created in March 2023 for Nova and Mali’s “Classics, But Make It Gay” Volume III. My piece is based on a Little Mermaid illustration by Edmund Dulac, however I’ve chosen to make the drowning prince a princess, reimagining a sapphic romance between the mermaid and her newfound interest. This painting measures 11” x 14” and was painted in watercolor and acryla gouache on paper. The painting arrives matted but not framed.
