In Japanese folklore, yōkai are mysterious supernatural beings. Spirits and shape-shifters that exist between the real and the imagined, often born from nature, shadow, and story. My crocodile yōkai is my playful reimagining of this tradition: ancient yet effortlessly cool, carrying a quiet swag as though he knows secrets whispered by deep waters for centuries. There’s a story in his gaze, perhaps a guardian of forgotten shrines, perhaps a creature who chose myth over mere existence- powerful, self-assured, and entirely his own legend.
