Sundog

It’s no secret that I make art for token game pieces. The fun part for me is the usual one-word prompt the token generates. In this case, it was simply “day.” There are so many ways anyone can represent “day,” and what I did was choose to work with shapes. The other part of this project was the prompt “night,” in which I painted a moon. This was also a previous EDO, which you can find in my profile here. The circle became my subject. I did want to somewhat mirror the other painting. I only did this by placing the circle in the same place and the same size. I had painted a sundog in a previous illustration and settled on that as a return to the subject matter, and it’s a really. cool phenomenon. Adding the adventurers was connected to thinking about the remains of the shaman found frozen in the Himalayas.
