Spirit Dragon

Original Art by Kelley Hensing

This painting is the fifth and final dragon in my “Elemental Dragon” series.  The Spirit Element (also known as Aether, Chi, or Quintessence) is the transcendent energy that bonds the other four physical elements together, known as fire, earth, air and water.

Medium: oils over acrylics over drawing, painted onto round wood. The frame came built onto the panel, which started as flat raw wood. I’ve painted and embellished it with faux gold decor to complement the piece. (See photos for details.)

Size: art 14 x 14 in, with frame 15.25 x 15.25 in. Frame depth 1 in.

Traveling is her only other passion equal to a career in art and is a vital component in inspiring her work.
