This is a sub-series of my “Rorschach’s” series of artworks, exploring our identity while our minds tether between the outside physical world and the ever confusing digital world. The “Rorschach’s” is inspired by the Rorschach test, a psychological projective test that can provide insight to an individual’s identity, thought processes, mental health and emotional functioning via the perception of a series of ink blots. In this series, I combine nature into mirrored forms, emulating ink blots, which could look like Lepidoptera, crustaceans etc.
In this piece, cyanotype is combined with watercolors to form a shape loosely inspired by the Oleander Hawk Moth. I have layered some fallen Trumpet tree flowers (it is Trumpet tree blooming season here in Singapore) over the cyanotype chemistry before exposing to full spectrum light. I have also added 24k gold leaf to the piece.
Important Note: For US collectors, due to the new tariffs and de minimus rule, this piece can only be shipped via registered document (invoice and Certificate of Authentication will be emailed digitally). Artwork will be shipped from Singapore via Singpost.
