I had the idea to use the small size of the piece as a window. A few years ago I saw one of Rembrandt’s small etching pieces presented with gigantic matting, the effect was phenomenal. This piece is an experiment to make a statement with a small window, to see or to be seen, the gaze of ours or the subject’s.
