Housewife #1

This piece was made as an early concept exploration drawing for a book illustration project for Grady Hendrix’s “The Southern Book Club’s Guide to Slaying Vampires”. The idea is to capture the absence of the figure as it relies the environment to define its existence. Grady’s book, in my interpretation, focuses on the process of a housewife gaining her independence through a fight against the vampire who threatens her family and neighborhood.
