Rabbits and hares often symbolize rebirth and the renewal of cycles across a variety of cultures. As a prey species, they need to be quick on their feet and adapt. I, too, feel as though I’ve been in a process of rebirth or recalibrating and adapting to new goals and challenges. I also know that I am far from alone with this feeling in a world that is evolving at a rapid pace. May our intuitions lead us to safety as we navigate the unknown and may we remember to stop and smell the bergamot along the way.

“Bergamot Hare” is a 5″x7″ mixed-media painting on watercolor paper mounted to hardboard. It is inspired by the baby bunnies I’ve enjoyed watching grow up in my backyard this season and the bee balm/bergamot that attracts the nice, helpful bumble bees. My backyard habitat is thriving!
