Deep in the hills in Tyringham, MA dwell the remnants of an historic manor. Originally a “Georgian-style” marble palace, little remains of the Tytus-McLennan family’s estate but isolated pillars and cool, shaded cellars. While on a plein-air trip with friends, I found the dark blues of the stone walls a vibrant contrast with spilled orange brick and riotous plants stealing through the interior.
