For the first time in the history of our gallery, we are not doing a traditional “Newbie November.” For the last 10+ years, every summer we pore through hundreds of submissions to the gallery and we showcase 30 new voices in November. We called it “Newbie November” and loved the outpouring of new art to our daily drop newsletter. On a personal note, I loved seeing so much new art and selecting a range that I felt would challenge and delight the artists and collectors who follow for those hidden gems. Some of those “newbies” have gone on to continue selling on Every Day Original, and some have eventually said their goodbyes as their commission list outgrew their time for smaller work. All of it delighted us.
I’ve never been accused of standing still for too long, and true to form, we are making a big change to November this year.
Our newletter is a daily microdose of delight.
It’s also easy enough to miss. And over the last 12 years, there have been some artists that we truly wanted to see more of in the gallery. We also have a strong list of alums who have left the gallery for other projects and continued to develop their unique and often whimsical voice.
Introducing “Oldie November.”
Every day in November, we will feature one artist you’ve seen once before, and we know you should see more of. In our daily email, you’ll see a mix of “old newbies” who have new, exciting work to share. And alums, our past regulars who are coming back for a one-night-only day at the gallery.
