2026 is the Year of the Horse, a year of action towards positive change. Earlier this year I made a sculpture inspired by ancient ceramics from China, molded it in plaster, and cast in paper pulp. With the mold made, I’ve been exploring different faux ceramic finishes on the various castings and wanted to emulate delicate blue and white porcelain figures. This horse is cast in white paper pulp, coated in transparent watercolor ground, painted with blue liquid watercolor, accented in gold, and sealed with gloss acrylic. It is mounted on a pale blue fabric mat, surrounded by a laser cut wood design and a cream/gold mat. The piece is framed in a metallic faux bamboo molding, with anti-glare museum glass. Celebrate the Year of the Horse by bringing this special piece home!
