Longing
by Natee
When I first drew and shared this piece — another in the Pudgy and Me series — it was accompanied with the words, ‘some days are harder to pretend than others’. I was in the midst of another depressive wave, and I suppose the image was a visual ‘masking’ of sorts. There was always rain when I wanted fair weather. Rain is necessarily the backdrop of every longed-for canopy of blossoms. I find myself in much the same state again just now, and am longing for at least some semblance of fairer days again.
Brown pencil on ivory cartridge paper, approximately 135 x 103 mm.
