King Fox
by Carolina Lebar
“King Fox” is the latest artwork in my series, Animal Kingdom.
The fox is widely recognized for its cleverness, playful nature, and remarkable resilience, making it a fascinating creature in both folklore and real life. Known for its agility and quick reflexes, the fox exhibits a unique ability to adapt to various environments, demonstrating an impressive intelligence and its playful antics often reveal a mischievous side, showcasing its spirited personality and sense of curiosity.
In many cultures, the fox symbolizes not only cunning and shrewdness but also resourcefulness. These traits make it a powerful representation of astuteness, highlighting the importance of being strategic and clever when faced with challenges. As a spirit animal, the fox serves as a guide, helping individuals navigate life’s complexities by encouraging them to trust their instincts, embrace change, and find their true paths. By embodying the essence of the fox, one can learn to maneuver through obstacles with grace and confidence, using intelligence and adaptability to thrive in any situation.
For this series, I start by creating an intricate pencil drawing on a wooden panel. After the drawing is complete, I add a texturized background to the piece with acrylics. The deliberate contrast between the controlled detail and the added chaos creates a fascinating visual interest that expresses nature’s majestic beauty verses the uncontrollable wildness of a life of survival.
Dimensions: 8″ x 8″
Medium: Acrylic and Pencil
Details: Sides are black and the painting is signed on the right side in gold.
Ready to hang.

“My work begins with pencil, creating fine, beautiful details, then with delicate layers of graphite and occasionally paint, I finalize the art. Using pencil and paint I explore tying the past and the present with gatherings of feather, fur, fins, symbolism, and feminine beauty.”
